Spiritual upbuilding. We were given the privilige of having one week together
with members of the Governing body at our table all through the Gilead course. It was an opportunity for me to raise all kinds of questions.
But I think they enjoyed to have young folks around them ,and I still remember Wednesday nights in the sauna with brother Franz and a crowd of young brothers
giving him challenges as to his bibleknowledge. Brother Henschel once got rid of a hering when coming back from a trip to Denmark
where the brothers had gifted him with smoked hering - a delikatesse in Denmark. The 5 Danish students still look forward to have
a similar meal with him but I think this could be the reason why he has'nt been in Denmark for a long time.
Encouragement
Laughter and joy Brother Knorr loved the students. He was treating us like familymembers
,and a good laugh made us relax. At the introduction night I told how I had to paint the Danish branch whenever he was expected to
visit. He just cracked up ,and everybody was in a good mood that night.
How important it is to be happy and positive in a family.
On the other hand he would also give us a lecture on some very seriouss subjects during the course. And we listened to his counsel because of his
kind and loving personality.
"Stand Firm" release in Ravensbrück.
Faithfullness.
Meeting almost 200 brothers and sisters who survived the concentrationcamps was an experince without comparison.
They were gathered for the release of the "Stand Firm" video release in Ravensbrück concentrationcamp. It was a camp for women and
several sisters could tell us about the horrable time they had in this camp. Why I was there? I often ask myself how and why these priviliges
are given to me but I hope many brothers and sisters feel the same way about the blessings they get from Jehovah and his organisation,
Endurance.
Filip Hoffmann - a "pillar" in my congregation. I have the privilige of calling brother
Hoffmann a friend of mine. He was the reason why I came to Ravensbück. Many years in fulltime service all over Europe gave
him an invitation to this special event, and I was with him as his companion. He is in his eighties now ,but he still gives public talks, is a regular publisher
and is serving as our secretary in the body of elders in Hĝrsholm congregation. His wife, Esther ,and their daughter and son-in-law with their three
children are also in our congregation.
